Adx for Fenix 3B - Citroen XM

Hello all !

I'm working on a PRV with a fenix 3B ecu, from a citroen XM. I managed to make it start and work on the engine, so i know the ecu is ok. I would like to read the output data of the ecu but i still have no success.

Is there a tutorial ? I bought a TTL to USB converter and installed the driver ( the FDTI one's ) and it works, but i'm not sure about the data speed. I changed the FDTI file like i found on calameo ( i read quite all on the renault documents there )
I tried also to hook a oscilloscope on the ECU pin'18 but i see just an intermittent signal, not datas. Is the data output always active? or i need to send some command ? Have i to connect just the RX on the TTL converter ?

How can i set Scanner Pro ? Has anyone an ADX file like the one i see on the website in the images for the Fenix ecu ?

Thanks to all ! Any help is usefull ;)

No

What you really need to do is an software that can read an display the diag frame. :geek:

I'm confused, there is plenty of images on the website showing ScannerPro setted with the XR25. Also in the pdf on calameo, in the XR25 explaning protocol there are images of ScannerPro setted up. So why everybody show it and it dont works?? :? :?

What software for display the diag frame do you suggest then ?

I'm also trying to understand how the ECU output works. I have this schematic:

http://pepon1.free.fr/CITROEN%20XM_fich ... ection.jpg
http://stefftnt.chez-alice.fr/Citroenxm ... nix3B1.jpg
http://stefftnt.chez-alice.fr/Citroenxm ... ix3B2.jpgt

I'm trying to see the dataframe output. I connected an oscilloscope to pin 18 and pin 8 but I see just a COSTANT intermitten signal at +12 ( about 1hz? ) and nothing other. I tried also between 18 and negative but still the same. Does I make something wrong? Is the ECU ok?

See you!

It can work, but it's not stable because XR25 diag frame use several tricks that Scanner Pro don't treat.

I am writing an software to do this that will be available soon. Also TunerPro v5 will breat when it will be release.

I already have seen some working ECU that don't output any diag frame. Change the EPROM have sometimes solve the problem.

Ok thank you ! Now is all much clear :) I will try to write some ROM with the files i have and see if i get the output.

Citroen/PSA compliant version of the Fenix3 does not deliver any diag frame like the Renault one. (This diag frame is spécific to Renault ECU)
It only use a simple "led flashing" diagnostic reporting protocol.
The good news is that the PRV is common between Renault and PSA.
You need to find a Renault PRV version of the program (and for the good PRV version, ignition timing / phm acquisition is different between the crankshaft versions).

Thanks Tasmaniac.

I read the bin from the Citroen ECU and now im trying to understand it ( see the other topic...)

Do you think, if I burn a Renault's V6 car (R25...) BIN file in the Citroen Fenix ecu it will work ?

No, for a Fenix3B you should find a bin file from a Safane V6 ECU (ZX7) and completely redo the maps because it was a 12valve version.
Warning: there is somme Z7X with Fenix5 ECU.
The Safrane 24valve PRV is driven by a Bosh ECU
R25 PRV is a 12Valve driven by a fenix3A.
R25 phase1 PRV is one with the "truncated V8 crankshaft" phase 2 is with the "standard" crankshaft.

Wasnt the ECU on the R25 Turbo Ph2 a Fenix 3B ?

I have these files in the case. What infos do you have about the Fenix 3B ? Are the maps always 13x9 ? The internal counter for the rpm is 25*X or is 20.000.000 / X ??

Thanks for the help ! You are the only to tell me something ;)

Try to speak French, maybe you should have more answers.
